Yes. It's kinda up to me to find out how much my body can tolerate now. I just started eating so I dnt quite know what I am capable of eating yet. I still wanna eat like I have my whole life.

Does anyone have suggestions on what types of food go down easier?

Umm have you tried cottage/ shepards pie? They are kinda softer

I'm not really sure tbh as I seem to be able to eat anything in small portions.

Iv not had a problem only a few times with the feeling of food sittin in my throat for about 20mins which is uncomfortable but apart from that.

I hope you get things sorted soon Hun xx

I was so just like you around eight weeks. I did well with low sugar oatmeal, and low fat yogurt. I absolutely could not do chicken, tried everyway possible. I still did a lot of Protein Shakes at this point. Oh ya eggs were my best friend, hard boiled. Key is chew chew chew!! It's hard but if not u end up so sick. Also what I found helped was to take the first bite and then sit for like 2 minutes, it almost "woke" up my tummy. Hope this helps, but really it's all trial and error. Good luck.

Hello ladies,

At what week y'all star doing regular food, meaning non musshy or liquid phase. This is my 1st wk and I'm feeling great so far, no cravings nothing wrong except that the Protein intake is hard for me b/c I get full so easily.

Regards

Yode

I started more solid food about week 6ish, but kept reverting back to mushy foods because it was easier or that's all I had in house. I tried ribs at 8 weeks, that went well. I also was able to do salad at that point too. lunch meat was a savor at this stage. I would do one slice of ham and one of turkey and half a slice of cheese on each with a little light miricle whip and roll them up and that would be lunch. I still enjoy that now at 3 months out.

Hi yodelania, I was told to do purée for 4 weeks and then introduce soft foods between week 4 and 6. I was so glad when my 4 weeks were up, I hated the purée stage. It used to fill me up but everything tasted disgusting blended, some days I really did not want it at all as the taste wud make me gag, but iforced my self to eat it. As soon as I started on soft foods at week 4 ie cottage pie/ shepards pie, jacket potato etc things were Great ;-) x

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
