So what is your exercise regime like? I was march 21st...only two weeks behind you and I'm only at 21 lbs....I've hit a plateau...although it does seem like I'm losing inches

My wife says "men loose weight faster and it isnot fair". Up til now, mainly walking, but just started back at the gym 3-4 times per week.

Panda have no fear I've been at a couple plateaus and it's annoying but it's worth it because I find that once the plateau is done for I start loosing faster! I normally loose about 5-6 lbs a week but during a plateau I only loose 1-2 lbs a week, but I'm happy with any weight loss because before surgery I could barely loose 5 lbs. in a month!

Thank you I really needed to hear that....: )....today I woke up and was 1 lb less than yesterday. Tomorrow is 1 month....so 22-23 lbs in one month is excellent!

22-23 lbs a month is AWESOME!!! That's basically how I did!!! I'm down 65 lbs. and I'm 3 months out I'm not exactly sure how much I lost each month but at your rate you should be down 60 or more lbs in 3 months!

I just wanted to make this a topic for people to come to and tell what the weighed before surgery' date=' how long it took them to loose how much, and when they finally made it to Onederland!!! Here's my info so far:

I had my surgery on January 11th, 2012

I weighed 247 on the beginning of my journey!

as of March 18th, 2012 (just a little over 2 months out)

I've lost 49 lbs

and I've finally made it to Onederland on March 16th, 2012[/quote']

Congratulations. I can't wait to reach that goal also my GBS is scheduled April 26 2012 6am 7 days away

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
