Hello I'm new to the forum. Glad I found this app. Well I had gastric bypass march 6,2012 . So I'm about 10 days post-op still have a good bit of pain on the sides of my abdomen. I've lost 30 lbs from my heaviest since I started the pre-op diet on February 18. I don't seem to have lost any inches though which sucks. The hardest part for me is drinking All the Water. I never was a big drinker :( but I'm trying. Well I wish everyone the best of luck on the weight loss journeys

Welcome! Congrats on your surgery. 10 days post-op, wait like two more weeks and u will see the inches disappear. You are still bloated from all the air they pumped in your belly. I wish you luck on your journey. So Water especially now does goes in and them comes right back out. I absolutely have to mix it with crystal light. I also got one of those blender bottles and it's 20 oz, so I know that if I drink 3 of those and a little of something else, (like I love Decaf coffee) then I will get my 64 oz in a day. Well welcome and good luck!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
