Lakeside5 0 Posted January 23, 2007 Ok so went to the seminar, now went for the 1st visit. BMP 35.1.+ diabes+hypertension due to diabtes + high cholesterol= I qualify... I quess i am one of the lucky one insurance will pay everything no copay, deductible nothing...( i pay about 80.00 per month for all my medications now). I am going to love losing the weight, but will be happier to lose the diabetes. So questions i have, at what rate do you loose? What can you eat during the 1st month? after that?? Any suggestions to make it work the best??:huggie:
GayleTX 1 Posted January 23, 2007 Every doctor seems to have his/her own guidelines as to what you can eat during the first few weeks. You will progress gradually from Clear liquids to full liquids to mushies to soft foods to well-chewed foods. How long you stay at each stage is up to your doctor's advice. Don't rush it, whatever you do....let your pouch heal. No carbonated drinks again ever, no caffeine for several months. I am no longer diabetic or hypertensive....haven't been for a few months now. I save enough on my meds to pay for my Protein supplements and good Vitamins which I will take the rest of my life. I'm 10 mo.out and have average about 10 lbs a month.....fast at first, then gradually slower, with a plateau about once a month. Best wishes to you!!
