Gastric Bypass Surgery Progress Pictures

Recommended Posts

I haven't really posted much since my surgery. I am almost 100 pounds down! I can honestly say this was the best decision I have ever made. :) Here are some before and afters.. never realized how big i was until now. I am going skydiving sometime soon.. finally I am little enough to meet the weight requirement.

You look absolutely beautiful! Congrats on your weight loss!!!!

It's there any advice you could give to me I'm 3 1/2 months out and I have almost given up... my body feels like I never had surgery with the exception that I can eat much... what was your approach to getting the weight of and did our do you drink alcohol after surgery

HI there! First, no, I never really drank alcohol after the surgery (had a daughter in 2009 and pretty much haven't drank since!) HOWEVER I do find myself slipping with soda pop, and other no-no's. I am currently 4m pregnant so the cravings can be SUPER intense and I have also come to be in a wheelchair for the time being, rendering me basically stagnant exercise wise. My only real advice is to remember how miserable life was before and DURING the surgery! After all that hard work and dedication you have to honor YOURSELF and make these changes PERMANENT! Otherwise whta was the piont!? (Plus, I REALLY love all my new cute clothes!!)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
