squawprincess_2013 14 Posted October 6, 2013 I'm 9 weeks out and I still have nausea throughout the day. It's before I eat, after I eat, while drinking Protein, sometimes after I drink Water. What I do to fight it is chew gum or brush my teeth. I hope that someday soon my nausea will just disappear. Good luck to you.

Carlotta 57 Posted October 6, 2013 Call your doc for anti nausea meds. Chewing gum puts air in your stomach which can cause gas pain..my nurse said no gum chewing.

Montereygrl 104 Posted October 6, 2013 Headache for me was caused by too few calories post surgery. I've heard a lot of people say alcohol pads under your nose helps with nausea. For me, I usually grab a SF Popsicle and it helps me,

MIJourney 490 Posted October 6, 2013 A headache can also be a sign of dehydration. Push fluids.

Jlew 1 Posted October 6, 2013 I'm day 3 post op and I have been really good on getting my fluids in. I did make the mistake of missing a pain med and I was in pretty bad pain for an hour or so. Won't do that again. I had a headache, but then started drinking more and it went away. 1 lifeback1383837795 reacted to this
lifeback1383837795 0 Posted October 6, 2013 Day 4 and still very nauseated with slight constant headache. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am on day 5. No nausea but headache was an issue up until today. I think the extra fluids really helped. Look forward to hearing about your progress. I am new to this group. squawprincess_2013 14 Posted October 7, 2013 My NUT said to chew gum or eat breath mints for offensive Protein breath. I have chewed gum all the time since I was several weeks out. No gas pains. In fact, I rarely have gas at all. I have 3 kinds of nausea meds, but hate taking meds. It has to be really bad for me to take a pill. Nausea is bearable as long as nothing comes up. I kinda think the nausea tells me it's time to eat or that I've eaten too much. I live with it. It's part of me now. No headaches at all. I guess I'm lucky.
