READY4CHANGE2013 88 Posted October 5, 2013 OK! So I'm a HUGE fan of egg fu yung of ANY kind! Has anyone tried it post surgery?? Or are there any recipes...Also what point did you bring crackers or break back into your diet??
piercedqt78 658 Posted October 5, 2013 I'm 5 months postop and can eat crackers with no problem. I don't remember when I started eating them, but they weren't ever a problem. I do better with crackers than chips, or bread. They don't seem to swell like the other things do. And I have them with lunch meat and cheese.< /p> 1 READY4CHANGE2013 reacted to this
piercedqt78 658 Posted October 5, 2013 As for the Chinese food. I eat non-breaded chicken, or sliced beef. I order beef peppers and tomatoes with onions, but pick around the peppers. Or Mongolian beef. I don't care for eggs, so the egg foo young isn't something I would eat either way. I ate egg drop Soup that had been strained during my clear liquid phase, just about everyday. It's easy to make, some chicken broth thickened with corn starch, and then just let an egg drip through a strainer into the boiling liquid. I would guess that since eggs are on my post-op diet as a good choice, high in Protein, and low in carbs that egg foo young would be a good choice too. 1 READY4CHANGE2013 reacted to this
READY4CHANGE2013 88 Posted October 5, 2013 I LOVE those options too...THANKS!
NMJG 1,266 Posted October 5, 2013 I ate crackers at 2 weeks. They are still my best option for bread products. Once a week I have a half slice of buttered toast. Can't get down a whole slice. Chinese: egg drop Soup during puree stage. Soft foods: hot and sour soup, tofu. Full food stage: steamed chicken and vegetables (I only get down a few bites of chicken and one bite of veg). My local Chinese place has a "diet" menu available where everything is steamed and the sauce is served on the side. Very tasty and healthy. 1 READY4CHANGE2013 reacted to this

I don't mind the steamed veggies...thanks for all the feed back!!
Rainae 22 Posted October 5, 2013 My Nut said no rice or flour products for 9 months to a year. The more I read, it appears my team is very restrictive compared to others. I guess I would ask your team, and then try when they give the ok. 1 CDP1965 reacted to this
