ShanBabyG 6 Posted October 5, 2013 Just putting this out there, I will be having my surgery in December (I'm a teacher). I am beyond excited!! I kept it quiet at first because I live in a small town and I didn't want it to spread all over town then I not get approved. I am an open book and have already started educating other overweight people in my town about the sleeve. My pet peeve is this: when people say to me "oh ypu are taking the easy way out," Why do people say this!? Surgery is NEVER the "easy way out". 1 Mel1976 reacted to this
Will 61 Posted October 5, 2013 First off, congratulations on your surgery! All your hardwork has paid off and soon you'll be so much lighter. It's so worth it. Because a lot of people don't understand that the sleeve is just a tool and everything that was a problem before mentally is still there. Don't get me wrong, I sometimes think to myself, "I did take the easy way out. I lose so easily now," but in actuality I can screw up. I can drink a lot of high calorie drinks. I could sit and eat ice cream forever (It just SLIDES through!) So yes, the surgery makes eating better a high probability due to low hunger which makes positive choices a lot easier, it's still up to us to make the choices. No amount of surgery can determine that. 1 ShanBabyG reacted to this
Fat Pat no more 89 Posted October 5, 2013 This is not the easy way out. That's why I'm not telling everyone btw it's not their business anyway. My day is October 14. I'm feeling kinda nervous but excited and not believing it's really finally gonna actually happen. 1 ShanBabyG reacted to this
