AngiD 95 Posted October 4, 2013 So I'm pre op and don't even have a date, but I just had 2 teeth pull because of an abscessed tooth and was told to eat soft food like mashed potatoes or mac n cheese. It's just wrong that most soft foods are loaded with carbs, at least the ones that tastes good. I'm going to have to get creative and have a plan once I surgery. Miss Mac 6,262 Posted October 4, 2013 If the concept with the dentist is just to not chew, would he allow you to take something else from the fridge and just zap it in the blender with something liquid?
AngiD 95 Posted October 4, 2013 they don't want you eat anything crunchy or hard so u don't get dry sock which I've heard really hurts, you can't smoke or drink from a straw, the smoking it's a prob figuring out what to eat and no using a straw is the challenge. This a kinda like trail run on my post op diet. lol
7 Bites_Jen 479 Posted October 8, 2013 There are a TON of options for soft foods that are high Protein and low carb. Canned meats that can be mushed with a fork, refried Beans, ricotta cheese ... Lots of stuff. It's easy to fall into the "this is all there is" mentality, but sometimes you gotta get creative
