I was sleeved 9/16, and it has been a very positive experience. I got super nervous right before my surgery (literally as they were wheeling me into the operating room) but then they gave me the happy drugs and next thing I knew I was out of surgery and it has been a dream since. I took a couple weeks off work, my friend and my mom came to babysit me (totally spoil me), and I haven't had any troubles. Each day I feel better, and can do more. It's awesome. I wish you the very same positive experience, and no regrets!!!

I hear a lot of people mention how the gas is unbearable. What is the feeling like? Is it because you can't pass it? I'm not trying to sound funny but, when you have gas don't you just pass it? Or is it the pressure on your stomach that makes it hurts so much?

But it's gas that's sort of floating inside you..it's not just hanging out down by the exit like usual. You feel it get trapped up in the shoulder...this is the best I can describe it.

My previous surgery I had the gas and it was a laparoscopy surgery...I felt like I had gas but couldn't push it out. Literally.

It's not stomach gas pain. During laparoscopic surgery they fill you with gas. Afterwards it takes a few days for the gas to disseminate. The pain is usually in the shoulder area. Mine was very minor and not a big deal at all. I was lucky to have no real pain... just a little discomfort the first few days. I wish the same for you.

The gas is in your abdominal cavity, not in your digestive track, so you can't burp it up or fart it out. They use it to inflate your belly so they can see around when they are doing the laparoscopic surgery. Your body just has to absorb it and dissipate it so moving is the only thing that helps. The pain is from the pressure of gasses being trapped in various parts of your body (shoulders and back/neck are the most common sites of pain)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
