Went to the appt. And my doctor was not happy I only lost 17 pounds ... It's only been 2 weeks ... So he told me to walk one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening... When all his paper work said walk for 30 min the first few weeks..

That made me feel bad ..so I just left the office... was I suppose to loose more than 17 pounds... ????????

17 pounds in two weeks is great, in my opinion. Sounds like he's nuts for wanting more.

My surgeon is also REALLY tough, when I had a follow up appointment 9 days post surgery he was upset I'd only lost 11 pounds. I've lost the same as you, 17 pounds in 2 weeks and he's not a happy camper.

When I brought it up in my support group and was asked who my surgeon was everyone kinda just said "ohhh" so I'm just going to take what he says regarding my weight with a grain of salt. I've never been able to lose 17 pounds in 2 weeks ever in my life, and I've lost 61 pounds since beginning this whole process!

I'm just gonna try to get my exercise in every day and eat what I'm supposed to eat (I can't eat anything anyway so that's not an issue at this point) and the weight will come off. Maybe not as fast as he'd like it to but oh well. I didn't get to this weight overnight and I'm not going to lose it overnight either.

Tough love, huh? Yeah, not so useful for us grown ups, I think. :) 17 lbs in two weeks is great, but the recommendation to walk more is a good one, too. It's a big increase for you right now, but I'll bet you can work up to it.

How far out from surgery are you?

Omg.. 17 pounds in two weeks is great..everyone is different in how much weight will be lost each week. I cannot fathom losing more than that.. At the beginning, a lot of it is Water weight. Also, for him or expect u to walk 2 hours a day ,2 weeks post op ,is a bit aggressive.. Listen to your body. Don't overdo it ok. I

Everyone has a different experience with losing on their new sleeve. Your doctor should know that, but it sounds like he's more concerned with his patient sleeve stats, to bring in more patients!!

Great job, 17 pounds in 2 weeks is awesome!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
