I Am 5 weeks out and doing great , down 27 pounds . I am learning to eat and doing well except for chicken and turkey . White meat , dark meat , baked , stewed , with sauce without sauce it doesn't matter . 2-3 bites and foaming and gagging and then I throw it up . Anyone else have this ? I can tolerate beef and even steak , chicken or turkey - nope .

I don't have an issue with chicken, but turkey doesn't sit well. It doesn't come up, it just doesn't feel good. But I do find steak is easier than poultry (strange?).

I also have a little issue with turkey. I can eat it, but not as much as chicken and I sometimes get the foamies.

I can still only eat super moist poultry. (Well ANY meat I eat has to be tender and/or moist.)

I can't do chicken either. I asked the PA about this and she said chicken tended to be more fibrous/stringy and so harder to digest. I can't grasp how beef would be less fibrous, but my sleeve seems to think so! Stupid thing has a tiny little mind of its own most days.

I can't do scrambled but I can do over easy, poached or hard boiled. Deviled eggs are awesome!

Yes, deviled eggs are really easy to eat. I make me a deviled egg (yep, 1- and my coworkers laugh) once in a while to bring to work. Except I use a Lauging Cow wedge instead of mayo-- yum!

I couldn't tolerate it either until my fourth or fifth month out! Just stick with what you CAN eat and keep trying! Eventually, it'll stay down.

Me too! I started off able to eat Boar's Head turkey fine and I can still tolerate that in small portions (like maybe one piece) but real chicken, I feel like it's choking my stomach! Someone else called it the "foamies" which is a good word for it. I keep trying it, but I'm getting close to giving up on on chicken for awhile. I hope it's not forever because I like chicken more than other meats and it's a nice easy source of Protein.< /p>

I am four and a half months out and can eat chicken sometimes. I can tell within 2 bites if I am going to be able to continue eating. Turkey - ground only so far.

Im 2 ms out as of TODAY... I cant tolerate beef well, it seems to get clogged & takes its time going down (hurts or it feels like its coming back up)... Grilled boneless chicken works better for me.

Pasta or rice either.

I'm 5 months out, eating chicken can be challenging because it's a dense protien for me. So that means I have to chew it many, many, many times for it to go down and not bother me. I hope this helps someone. :-)

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
