cpeycke 16 Posted October 3, 2013 After reading how SLOW some slow losers lose weight I am scared. I feel like that is why I failed at every other diet/exercise program! The results take too long!! I really hope that even though I am a lower BMI I can still be at GOAL in 6-9 months. I mean that's only like 10lbs a month and that what you should lose when you diet and exercise properly. I guess now I 'm questioning why I even did this for the same slow results:( I am still pre-op but have already paid everything so am going to go through with it I just hope I don't fail due to slow results, and screw it up! nsquared 232 Posted October 3, 2013 Unfortunately, there is no way to know how quickly you will lose until you start. My recommendation is stay positive and work your program to the fullest. Once you are cleared for solid foods stick with Protein first. Exercise regularly, once you are cleared to do so. The sleeve is a great tool and the program works but you have to follow it. Your body will catch up with your effort, whether it happens quickly or a little less so. Put less pressure on timing and focus on the journey. You will do great! 3 No game, gourmetone and DagsboroDebbie reacted to this

Not having the surgery and not losing the weight?? Oh and 10 pounds a month is not slow! That would of been a dream for me 1 gourmetone reacted to this
J.Diesel 220 Posted October 3, 2013 Losing any weight is positive news, regardless of how fast or slow...the goal is to become a healthier you, right?? 2 gourmetone and RJ'S/beginning reacted to this
TvlGrl712 113 Posted October 3, 2013 I had the same worry and sure enough - I AM losing slower than I had hoped - 25 lbs in 6 weeks, but ya know what? Its 25 lbs lighter than I was before! So I keep sticking with the program and someday I'll be at goal. Only you can decide if its right for you, but rest assured we all have doubts and fears - that is normal. Teachamy 1,042 Posted October 3, 2013 Losing an average of 1 pound per week is typical/recommended without a sleeve. Expecting to lose 10 pounds a month is an optimistic case scenario. Some people do, some people won't. I have a low BMI too, so I expect my loss might be on the slow side. Either way is OK with me. 1 gourmetone reacted to this
joatsaint 2,814 Posted October 3, 2013 If you are like me and suffer from Head Hunger caused by the Ghrelin hormone - post-op that near constant nagging sensation to eat will be gone. My entire outlook on food has changed since surgery and I don't feel the cravings to eat a particular food as I did pre-surgery. It's like a switch was flipped off in my brain. So even if I was losing weight slower than 10lbs a month, the hold Ghrelin had on my brain is gone and I know that every pound down is not going to come back. 2 gourmetone and TvlGrl712 reacted to this
cpeycke 16 Posted October 3, 2013 Thanks for the replies. I am an emotional eater so when I get discouraged or depressed I eat, I'm hoping with the hormone gone I can at least control that, and that should help.
