anti-inflammatory diet

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever followed an anti-inflammatory diet, for other medical reasons that are seperate from being a sleever? We're not just talking buying stuff that says "gluten free" on it, It takes total 100% faithful adherence and involved eating amounts and ingredients that may seem really wierd, but many horrible diseases have been reversed or halted or dramatically slowed down when a specific sort of diet is adhered to. I wondered if anyone here has any experience with that?

Yes I have, on two separate occasions. Once it was 2-3 oz of lean meat at each meal, unlimited veggies and Protein Shakes. The second time it was a lb of fresh veggies, lb of cooked veggies, 2-3 fruits, handful of nuts, 1 c of Beans but no meat. Both times, no eggs or peanuts, no wheat, no carbs really. After the first, it cleared up my recurrent yeast infections which I had monthly for 6 months in a row. Both times, I felt SO full of energy! Esp after the no meat one, I was like Tigger. Great feeling. Would have kept at it for life except the carbs made my blood sugar go up :(

I work with a woman who is on one. She has lost over 90 pounds since January. She tells me that from day 2 she has not experienced pain in her neck and back which used to be daily trouble areas. The diet is very similar to HCG. It uses drops called shape renew. My former gynecologist used this diet and he lost a lot of weight and has kept it off for two years.

It will be interesting to see if the lady I work with is able to maintain her loss long-term.

Thank you very much Gamergirl. Yes it will be tricky to adhere to such a diet but I have to try, Probiotics, green superfood powder, flaxseed, coconut oil, Protein Shakes, sardines in olive oil, tuna, and as many greens as I can get at the difac plus ots of green tea even though I HATE green tea, blechhh.

But I have to try, having been recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.

I have RA which is an autoimmune disease. For me, the lack of sugar and grains eases the pain and inflammation significantly. I hope you too find something that works for you.

I've tried but not very successfully. I've used Kathy Abascal's Anti-Inflammatory Diet book and lectures. She may have some good ideas for you.

I try to do this because I have ulcerative colitis/Chrons disease, I find it just keeps me on track with my Protein

YEAH, I have UC and should try this when i am off my feeding tube. the stuff they add the the formula is awful - good luck Globetrotter....go for it. you can only try and if it does not work for you - at least you made an effort to reduce the chronic inflammation!

My issue is something called Leaky Gut Syndrome, which puts me in a constant state of my body attacking itself.

Probiotics and milk thistle were heavy in the supplements my doc gave me to avoid/treat the likelihood of leaky gut. Additionally, he had us on high ORAC powders. I don't know if you can get those, but they helped. Oh also turmeric. Antiseptic, anti-inflammatory. Curcurmin tablets help for that.

I'm happy to see that in my case, it all seemed to work together to help reduce my inflammation. I think. Primary in that were probiotics, no sugar, and no gluten, plus turmeric. Hope it all comes together for you too.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
