Can anyone else eat bread? Pasta? Anything? I can eat almost a whole hamburger...no joke..I can eat things like a Breakfast burrito. Maybe it's because I was a Lapband patient before, and I haven't been able to consume many things in seven years...I'm in disbelief though. Feel like I did not have surgery and as if I took a step backwards or something. I know this is mind over matter or whatever but I cant express how I feel like I'm going backwards.

How far out are you? I can eat about a half of a hamburger with no bun very slowly. I am 2 months out. Talk to your doctor

How about making better choices? Eat lean Protein and veggies- try that. I can pretty much guarantee you won't be able to eat much if you stick to healthier options.

i eat pizza , and tortillias at leat 1 time to 2 times a week and I assume its just natrual. If your not in any pain or hurting yourself I don't see a problem with it.

Nope not really painful. I know when I'm full that's about it. I work with a girl that has a sleeve and she thinks its weird I eat a breakest burrito. So guess that's why I ask. Thanks!

I tried a carb balance tortilla - OMG I thought I was gonna die and I only ate MAYBE a 1/4 of a small one!! Soooo since then I don't really want bread...I've had potatoes and they are okay...just a bite or two though.

I have taken a bite or two of bread a few times. I've also eaten a small soft taco a couple of times. I definitely know when I'm full. I could see eating a breakfast burrito if it was really small. I haven't tried a hamburger, but have a hard time with ground meat. I try to stay away from breads, but don't always succeed.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
