I'm sorry you are having problems. I didn't go through this, but I would contact your counselor to reassure yourself that you aren't having low sugar problems or potassium problems. Are you taking your nutritional supplements daily? This is very important, especially because you won't be getting the Vitamins and minerals you need to heal. I had problems with stomach issues for quite a few weeks after the surgery. I threw up often because I didn't always know what worked for me. Each person is different. It's been nearly two years since my surgery, but I still have a hard time digesting rice and heavy Pasta. I feel fine though with nearly everything else I eat, including spicy Mexican and Chinese. My weight loss was less then expected, but I have physical problems that made exercise in the early stages impossible. I'm still losing weight though without trying to, only very slowly, which I like. So hang in there. It takes awhile for your stomach to heal completely, but it will feel normal again, just not as soon as you'd like :=}

I had problems about 3 weeks out with vertigo and nausea. My doctor told me to boost my Protein to 90 grams per day, and increase my Water to 80 ounces. I found that when I boosted my calorie count above 850 that things started to normalize for me. You could also have a stomach virus that is making you ill and giving you the diarrhea. The low sugar Gatorade / Powerade would help replace any electrolytes that are low too. I hope you start feeling better soon!

Is your heart fluttering? Because that could be a sign of low potassium/electrolytes. Maybe try a Powerade Zero or the no calorie Gatorade

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
