Rocsi 13 Posted October 2, 2013 I don't know if anyone had a problem with getting fully put under. I had the worst experience with this surgery. I pretty much felt everything. I felt them cuting me or more like stabbing me. I felt the pressure on my organs, the stapling of my stomach. I felt the tubes going down my throat and I couldn't do anything about it. I heard everyone talking and the music was playing. It was horrible. I would think twice before going under the knife again. Don't mean to scare anyone but did anyone else experience this. My spirits are down ever since. I wonder if I made the right decision on having this surgery. 1 Butterthebean reacted to this
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted October 2, 2013 It is what it is and there's no going back......Now it's time to move forward and reap the benefits of all your discomfort. It does help to talk with someone about this horrible experience. If you need surgery in the future, make sure you share with the surgeon and anaesthesiologist the problem you had here.....Hope you get better really soon. What a frightful experience. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
luwells 4 Posted October 2, 2013 I think there is a name for that, when you can feel everything while under. That is not good! Talk to your Dr. so they know. Like they said above, its over. Enjoy losing weight now!!!! 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted October 2, 2013 I had the same experience when I was 18. I had a severely broken nose. They had to operate to rebuild it....but I felt everything....but couldn't tell them. Worst experience of my life. And there was nothing I could do about it. It wasn't until later that I learned it wasn't just me it appended to. It's called anesthesia awareness. 2 ProudGrammy and Ms skinniness reacted to this
cpeycke 16 Posted October 2, 2013 Oh I have been under a few times and never had that, I have never heard of it until now. That is scary. Had you never been under before or was this just the first time it happened? SCARY, sorry to hear that hopefully it will be worth it and not to many nightmares from here on out! 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this

Butterthebean 8,146 Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) inappropriate quote removed WTF? Is she not allowed to bring it up? Is it inconsiderate to mention things that didn't go well for her? I suppose the people with leaks, infections....even severe Constipation should keep their mouths shut? cpeycke 16 Posted October 2, 2013 Hey guys its not a big deal, she/he probably is just looking to relate to someone and not be alone. I thought it was freaky but still understood why shee/he posted. I have seen a lot of things on this forum and people are allowed to write what they want, no use in arguing about it, its already on here anyway....
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted October 2, 2013 Well if you're opinion is that we should only post the sunny happy stories and never mention the negatives, failures or complications.... I have to disagree. That would make this website a total lie. In spite of the fact that everyone wants to get "support" from VST....it's still a huge research tool for most new people (whether that's good or not is another story) and it should reflect the whole ugly picture and not just the successes. 11 No game, enigmachik, ProudGrammy and 8 others reacted to this

I had a total of 11 surgeries because of the sleeve...only one time I knew what was happening...I felt almost the entire surgery...But managed to make some kind of sound and that is all I remember for about the 7 hours I was out.. I felt them pulling the stents out of my sleeve and then when I made the sound I heard them say..WTF and that was it... I talked to the surgeon after and he said it would not happen again....And for the rest of the surgeries it didn't...I thought it was funny when I heard them say WTF though....lololol 2 Ms skinniness and Recycled reacted to this
No game 14,437 Posted October 2, 2013 Yes you did. Why else would you bring it up. It is unforeseeable. Nobody has any control over it and if only serves to freak people out. And if anyone else did experience it' date=' what purpose would that serve? I feel terrible that you had to go through that, and while the possibility of it occurring may not bother me, it might affect others drastically. Try to use a little consideration before making such an inconsiderate post.[/quote'] Mr recycled, I'm sorry that this persons experience scares you.. Yes I know you said otherwise, but your passionate reaction tells me this is a fear of yours. I understand you are scared of this happening but it is rare. Also there was nothing "inconsiderate" about the op posting her experience. 7 Beach Lover, peachie86, Ms skinniness and 4 others reacted to this

Luckily the procedure didn't require major cutting. I am being sleeved on the 22nd and I definitely plan to share this with my surgeon and the anesthesia staff. Glad she felt comfortable enough to share here. 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this
