six days post...Scrambled eggs. Bad idea?

Recommended Posts

Not really... I tolerated them. All three bites I was able to take. However I'm starting to realize that it wasn't so much that I wanted the eggs, just the flavor and the salt...am I weird?

Were you told soft foods so soon out?

No...I was being rebellious. I'm doing fine with my Protein shakes and Water. Just couldn't fight the taste in my mouth.

I so know the feeling. The no salt cream of chicken Soup just doesn't do it. Have to think long term though. I put a little salt in my soup and it kind of helped! Good luck and be careful!!!

That is really soon for eggs...

These were my instructions.

Post-op

Week 1 -2: liquid diet

Week 3: pureed phase

Week 4 - 5: soft food - My current phase

Week 6 and beyond: all food as tolerated

You should follow your post op instructions to a tee, as this will prevent complications with your new pouch. Remember why you started this journey to become a healthier you. Plus you'll eventually be able to eat all kind of foods.

The beginning stage is supposed to teach you discipline.

Just my 2 cents.

So really, you weren't asking the question from a "I want to protect my health and well being" point of view, you were simply wondering if you were the only one who craved foods off your diet?

Obviously, the answer the title is, yes, it's a bad idea. Your stomach is numb, your staple line is healing and you are risking a leak when you do not follow doctor's orders. I can't imagine an egg is worth that. But as you were obviously not asking that question... ;)

No, you are not weird for wanting an egg or anything else not on plan. Giving into those cravings is what got me fat in the first place, though, and because I love ME, I had major surgery for ME and I really don't want to go back to the hospital over ANY food item, I stuck to plan while I was healing. I did this to get healthy, NOT to give in to urges that I know are bad for me. B)

Well I am 5 days out and been following diet to a T....until this am If I looked at a popsicle I would gag. I ate about two tablespoons of scrambled egg blended with skim milk. I know it wasn't on my list but I hate broth and coffee so eating Jello and popsicles is not doing the job.I cant start Protein Drinks till day 14 liquids for 6 weeks going to be a challenge but not impossible,

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
