Melissa1234 69 Posted October 21, 2013 I had 6 and I have no clue why either. No hernia or anything else that I know of. I'll have to ask at my 1 mth appt.
LisaDM 194 Posted October 21, 2013 I had 6 incisions too. My surgeon had pointed out where all six would be on a few occasions. I know one was for the drain, so that is probably why some only have 5. Not all docs use drains.
john-nj 9 Posted October 21, 2013 I asked my Doctor the other day how many incisions I would have and he said six. He said the sixth one, below my left breast, was to hold the liver out of the way. My surgery is tomorrow.
Bruce_65 21 Posted October 22, 2013 My surgeon is a wonderful guy, He could have put a lot more bandages on my stomach and I'm sure he would have had a good laugh. His attitude was such a positive motivator to have the surgery. My progress is continuing a little slower that I'd like but it continues. Daily step on to the scale can be a bummer but writing it down only every week or every other week makes me realize just how much I'm loosing. Realistic 6 month goal maybe 75 - 90 pounds basically 13 pounds every 4 weeks.
TanyaB 25 Posted October 22, 2013 I had issues with my stomach being itchy as well. I found that if I took a washcloth with some soap and wash off all the areas I could remove the iodine that was left over that made a huge difference in how I felt. Even if you can't see the orange when you wash off you will see it on your washcloth.
