Why are you tempting yourself by going off of your plan? This change you've committed to won't take place by itself.

If you're taking a cooler pack tuna, cottage cheese, yogurt, ricotta, oatmeal, Protein Shakes pre-made, milk etc.

You CAN live your life, just don't mess with a good thing, you were given a 2nd chance to be healthy, embrace it!!

Def a no go on pizza or fries. We went to a movie and got fries and it was one if thr worst pains (pretty close to dumping syndrome feelings).I agree with the food choices listed above. Where does ur doc have u at 4 weeks post op for ur diet? Mune had me at puree stage, so even taking some pureed baby food is something that would work. Cream of wheat also works good

I'd take a lot of the tuna packs, a bunch of different cheeses, Protein shake powders to mix with Water (if they're individually packaged most bartenders will make them for you). Will it be cold enough that you can leave things outside and they'll stay chilled (and uneaten by critters)? Babybel cheese and laughing cow cheese would be easy to transport.

Or can you postpone the trip until you're further along?

At four weeks out there was no way I could of eaten pizza, fries or salads. Even though I was blessed with the sleeve of steel at four weeks my digestion was still a mess...

Premier Protein shakes are shelf stable, you might want to bring some of those. And if worse comes to worse and IF you're on real food by then???

A part of a burger patty (no bun) might work.

I agree, pack an igloo for healthily, high Protein Snacks or meals. Stay away from all the junk.. You committed to this change in eating lifestyle, so don't jeopardize your progress for a few days away..

Will the bars serve Soup? Mash potato and gravy? That might be a good option for when dining out? You could always be honest and ask them to prepare you something 'off plan'. As for 'in the cabin', you can't get better advice than that noted above. Best of luck :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
