adrimc26 7 Posted October 2, 2013 I guys I'm in need of some help. I had my gastric sleeve 04/09/12 1.5 years ago. I've been on a plateau for the last 6 months up 2 down 3 and so on. My big question since my DR went away to another state and I can't ask him. How much foo should I be eating? Sometimes I feel like it's too much. Can anyone help me out pls I'd really appreciate it. Hope everybody is having a great journey
unbesleevable1 420 Posted October 2, 2013 have your metabolic rate tested. they do it at my surgeon's office, but i'm sure gyms and other places do it too. then you know how many cal you need to maintain, and to burn.
cathycnyrs 85 Posted October 2, 2013 I have a bodybugg (bodymedia.com). It shows me how many calories I burn daily. It is different depending what I do. Days I do NOTHING, like 1200 (I'm still 275). Days I work, usually about 2000. Days I work and work out - as high as 4000. I've only busted 4000 a handful of times. I work a very physical job though. The smaller I get the numbers are going to get smaller. They also say that they are about 90% accurate, so deduct 10% and go by the smallest number. I think they sell now for about $99.00. When I first got mine it was $249.00. I lost great when I wore it. I'm putting it back on tomorrow, starting my liquid diet. Check it out, I love mine. gamergirl 4,610 Posted October 2, 2013 Do you monitor your food? Do you know how much you're eating? Many of us use myfitnesspal and keep track of every bite we ear, to help tell us what changes we need to make.

Hehe u guess I'm not explaining myself too well ???? I meant the total amount of food on each meal per say 4oz of protein plus some salad rice and something else for dinner the quantity in total
cathycnyrs 85 Posted October 2, 2013 The bodybugg downloads into the computer with a plugin and downloads the stats, and then I can log my food. If a particular food isn't in the program I can enter it myself. I have a watch that goes with mine that is bluetooth and gives me my stats. It even monitors sleep if you wear it at night. If you don't wear it one night then it guesses based on what you've burned in previous nights while at that weight. It also keeps up with steps and I find myself trying to meet goals with it... get my steps to 10,000... It breaks activity into moderate and vigorous and usually I have to fight to get vigorous activity... once I get one or two minutes my body adapts and I have to step up the pace. I tried to copy and paste the activity manager screen on here... I have my goals or targets, and then actual info. I tried to post the activity manager of one of my days and I couldn't do it. But if you check out bodymedia.com it shows a sample.
No game 14,437 Posted October 2, 2013 Hehe u guess I'm not explaining myself too well dde0a I meant the total amount of food on each meal per say 4oz of Protein plus some salad rice and something else for dinner the quantity in total I think it might not be too unreasonable... For instance tonight for dinner I had 3 oz of roasted chicken and almost an half cup of kale salad (kale, brussel sprouts, cabbage, pumpkin seeds etc)

Chase30 114 Posted October 13, 2013 calculate your BMI to help determine how many calories you need to eat to maintain your current weight. If you still need to lose weight then eat less than that number. At 1.5yrs out it's simple calories in vs calories out.
