Just wanted to thank everyone for this site! I'm two weeks (yesterday!) post op and this community has been such a help. From reading others struggles, issues and successes to being able to ask questions and everything in between---I love it.

For example---for the first time since sleeved, today I'm feeling hunger about two hours after eating. Of course the "oh my gosh the surgery didn't work" brain kicks in. I just did a search for "hungry" and found a few threads where others ha dealt with this at various stages. My fears were calmed.

Sometimes we know something intellectually, however in the heat of the moment, when left to out own devices we convince ourselves that something is abnormal. It could be that many of (pre-sleeve) us are used to be the exception to the rule. Always the hungriest. Always the biggest. Always feeling like a failure.

That's all. :) Thank you to everyone who encourages, shares, gives the hard to hear info and all who are in this community!

I am almost 11 months out and I get hungry sometimes but most of the time I don't...If I don't remind myself to eat especially during the day I miss meals...

There is head hunger and it is us thinking we are hungry when we are not...At first your stomach does not have the acids to break down the food you ingest. Later it comes back so it can be that that gives you the feeling of being hungry. but it is too early for that at only 2 weeks out....

Really listen to your sleeve and figure out what it is telling you...Eat yogurt or some kind of Protein to help with the hunger pain....K

Reading something about an experience and imagining how it would be is a world of difference from actual experience. The thing becomes 3 dimensional and stares you in the face. That's when you apply your research and go to war.

You are doing good, youthguy80, your brain is working and your body will benefit no matter how loudly it protests. :D

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
