Pissed off and scared

What ARE these people doing? Anti-histamines, because you have a full-on allergic reaction to a medicine? WTF?!! I'd be getting out of that hole as soon as possible.

While I was at Jerusalem hospital I looked at each IV bottle and read what was in it. I looked at each additional bag of antibiotic that was hung and each one had my name on it and what was in it. Any time a nurse came into my room with a syringe I asked what it was and I looked at it and it always had my name on it and the medication on it.

oh believe me, i asked and they feigned that they did not understand and finally told me "to make you better". common sense i have but i was feeling so crappy and that was the beginning of my 15 month as of oct 2013 of ongoing complications. plus i have my bsn, phn. normally - no way would i let someone give me rx without knowing but my circumstances may have been different then others. that being said, oh, we did not have post op iv fluids.none- and still with j tube and l reiterate - bring your own meds, etc to JC in tj. not a bad place. just you need to know some info prior to choosing it. :)

I am sincerely sorry that you had a bad experience and I hope that your circumstances with your ongoing complications improve and your health is restored.

I am fine now. The new antibiotics that I had to demand to have were just fine. it happens-no long term issue and it's over. My advice in regards to my IV bag being wrong and nothing else, for ANYONE going to ANY hospital is to ask what meds you are going to given and make sure they are given to you. I honestly DO NOT think that I was given the appropriate antibiotics while in the hospital. Again I am fine now, so far so good anyway. I realize that his can happen in NAY hospital in the world not just Mexico! Doing 'your homework' and researching Dr's and hospitals is great but you can never foresee an error from anyone at anytime! I have no hard feelings, I just wish it didn't happen. Enough said. Now if I could just get all this Protein in my belly:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
