Went in today for a followup, I'm two weeks post op today, I lost 2 1/2 pounds. I lost 15 my first week. I was hoping is lost more. I mean, I'm glad I went down but its not what I expected. :(

Your body has to adjust to the weight loss. You are going to have some weeks or even a few weeks in a row where you won't lose anything. Like fr me this month I lost 1lb but lost a pants size and shirt size.

Your body has to adjust and relearn what you are doing.

I'm starting week 4 today. The same thing happened to me except I gained weight in week two. 9 lbs! After losing 17 the first week. Don't worry. The scale will move again. Stalls are normal. And the dreaded 3 week stall is famous around here....look it up. I had the same fears and it all came off and I'm still going down. Just follow your plan and you'll be fine!

This is totally normal at this point. The weight will come off. Your job is to eat Proteins and get all your fluids in. Make sure your hydrated because dehydration really sucks..... Sit back and watch the weight come off now. Work on new eating habits and exercise. This is such an awesome ride.... :P

I know how you feel.....there are a lot of people typing and thinking what you posted. I had surgery on 9-10, and I haven't lost anything in a week. I think this surgery makes you crazy and obsessive about what your body is doing, and what you are doing to your body. I am hoping it gets better, from what I have read on here it will.

Well, I ended up being a little dehydrated too. I had to get 2 liters of Fluid today as well. Of course, they couldn't stick me so I got stuck 5 times before they finally got an I.V. in. It's been a long day.

Ugh, getting fluids at the hospital is never fun, but ain't it amazing how much better you feel?

And 17 lbs. in two weeks? I'd kill for that! Or lop off part of my thigh, anyway. ;) You go girl!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
