Hope you are feeling well! (The skin pics were cool and freaky all at the same time!) Looking forward to seeing your results. How has your pain level been and your ability to move around? Do you feel that you have needed a lot of help during the first few days after surgery?

Well my pain level on day 3 is not bad at all. But I'm not able to move around too much so yes....I definitely need a bit of help at the moment. The worst is not being able to stand up straight.

Wow, 6lbs of skin? Is that above average? That's awesome. When this is all done I bet you will be very happy with the results.

Congrats on shedding the "final" piece.

I was going to click on your photos of the skin and see them "larger" ...but I just ate some Breakfast, so maybe later. ;)

Day 4 and I'm feeling very good. No pain pills needed. Wish I could stand up straight but other than that not having much problems....other than bored already. I'll try to get some pics when I can but not sure how since I cannot stand up straight yet.

I've got 3 drains. One is barely producing 20cc a day but one is upward of 180cc yesterday. But it's not very dark, kinda pink cool aide color. Hopefully it will slow down soon.

Looking great Butter! Wishing you a safe and speedy recovery!

M2G I have heard that anywhere from 5 - 10 lbs of skin for every 100 lbs lost is an estimate with body contouring post massive WL. But as with everything, I am sure it is different for everyone.

You look fantastic! Dr I was stunned that we were connected in a way. I think that he was startled that there is discussion on message boards! He took out my last drain and is very happy. I turns out he took 4lb off of me plus the Lipo.

That's great. Glad you got rid of the drains.

My follow up isn't for another week. How much output did you have to get to before he took out a drain. One of mine is already very low....like 20/day. But one is still around 180cc/ day. But it's nice and clear and hopefully will decrease with each day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
