Hey folks. Had my TT today. They removed 6 pounds of skin. 2 giant pieces like the one on the picture. I'll get some photos of me posted as soon as I'm able' date=' but wanted to let everyone know it all went well.

I'm in the hospital tonight and I'll go home tomorrow. I've got 3 drains....how in the world do you folks walk around in public with these things?

The doc came in earlier and opened up the binder for a second to take a look....holy crap! I don't recognize myself. It's so unbelievable. Now let the recovery begin.

Btw not much pain right now, morphine is awesome!!!!

So this is half of what they cut out.

That's pretty awesome! I'm glad you're feeling minimal pain at the moment and thank you so much for keeping us posted.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and look forward to reading and seeing your progress.

No I was self pay. They would have paid for part of it if I had someecical issues as a result of the hanging skin. But I didnt have any.

The first thing I thought when I saw that picture was 1) glad your are resting comfortabley. 2) It must have been extremely uncomfortable for you to have the extra skin. I hope nothing but good days lay ahead for the new you.

It's creepy right? The surgeon took that. I've got this image now of the surgeon and nurses taking selfies during the operation with me cut open in the background. Talk about the ultimate photobomb.

lol awesome. Least you haven't lost your sense of humour through all this! Wishing you a speedy recovery, my dear. Looking forward to seeing the washboard! :) x

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
