Recommended Posts

My scalp is showing and my hiar is baby fine now...Im a lil over 90 days post op and my hair has been falling/thinning out for about 8 weeks now...

I take my vitamins--biotin, mulivitamin, B12, fish oil vit D, Calcium cheww---Im scared to wash my hair because my hair brush gets so full of hair...

I am eating my Protein a minimum of 60 grams a day to upwards of 100 grams a day...

I had bloodwork done last week ===the dr did check all my Vitamin levels, including my Protein levels--all my numbers are

in the normal range..

I eat about 900 a day...since my hair started for fall out Dr. up my cals for minimum 1200 calories a day

What did you do when your hair stared to fall/thin out?

Should I get a weave or plug-in onto my scalp? I have no idea where to go..

Hang in there, it WILL stop. Not a whole lot you can do but accept it. Wear lots of fun headbands. Get some clip in extensions. Invest in some fun hats. (it's getting cold and you can get away with some wintery hats, no?) Remember you knew this could happen going in to the surgery, and you were willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to reach your goal. This is just a bump in the road to a brilliant new you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
