Hello y’all!

I’m on my second semester of college now!

This semester I’m taking Weight training and Bellydancing along with two other real classes that have homework YUCK!

I started a “Gamerparents” blog (see my sig for link) basically just use and video game things. The idea is to get my kids to do reviews on the games they are playing and while 1. It’s fun research 2. They get some typing and writing skills 3. I think it will help them, even if it just knowing more about the game they are playing. 4. It’s fun watching them DO their research!

A few months ago I signed up to be a contestant in a Miss Video Game contest.

Voting started on Jan. 20th and I sure could use some friendly votes! :)

The top 50 people who have the most votes (emails entered) gets to continue on- After that the contest is based on actual game play!

The site is http://www.missvideogame.com/935056.htm if you wanna check it out!

To vote for me just click my sig or visit the website above and click the vote now button.

You have to enter your email address and they email you to confirm it’s a real working address. Once you get that email click vote again inside of the email and a popup will come up and say thanks for voting!

There are a few recent photos of me on that page too!

Now I must go do Math Homework :o

Got my vote!

Congratulations on finishing your first semester. Just remember, there will come a time when you can again read a novel for pleasure without guilt.

Belly dancing for credit, I could live with that!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
