October 100 Mile Challange!

Recommended Posts

20 mile MTB ride today. Think my total is up around 90 some miles this month. Not great, day care issues have held me back. I am also not keeping track of my gym routine and ARC cardio work.

14 miles today plus the 4 I did yesterday, bring me to 61 for the month. I'm sure I'll hop on the bike again later today since I'm home all weekend with no plans, might as well exercise!

Hello everyone, I have been missing a few days, but have been getting in a few miles. 2 miles Thursday, 2 miles Friday and 3.5 today and my total is up to 23.75 miles. I had rather walk than ride a bike...so maybe later I will get on the darn thing and ride anyways! I also did jumping jacks for the first time in like forever. I thought those first 10 were gonna kill me...not. I did 3 sets of 10 on Thursday and yesterday I did 3 sets of 15 and it was a lot easier the second day. So I am gonna try for 3 sets of 20 later today.

2.8 miles today, all while walking from station to station in the clay shooting tournament. I didn't shoot worth and &%$# but had a lot of fun. 125 shots later I ended up with a numb right shoulder that I can barely move with a bruise the size of a softball and won a free airboat bow fishing trip. I can shoot a bow and I have fished many times....just never at the same time while on an airboat. This should be interesting.

Any who...my total for the month stands at 47.94 miles so far. Great job on your totals everyone!

Well today was supposed to be a rest day but it turned out to be a restless day instead. Literally and figuratively. I could NOT sit still. So I went on two slow walks and managed to log in 2.4 miles despite the flare up. Having to force myself to not overdo it. So 24 miles now.

Total today is 25 miles.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
