Recommended Posts

Can't wait to be that person posting 5 or 10 miles a day but I'm getting better and did a mile and a half today.

Ted how's your wife doing?

She is doing great. No pain, sleeping decent and holding down shakes and Water with no problems. Every day is a little better than the day before. She has been a little slow on starting to walk but she has her pace and I respect that. I will just have to lap her...lol Thanks for asking.

Georgia...sorry about your setback. Rest up and get well quick.

Week 1 report - 27 miles. I'm secretly shooting for 120 this month, so let's see how it goes. I've started running... well, I should call it a jog... well, if I'm going to be honest about it, I should really call it a "wog" (part walk, part jog). The scale is kinda stuck right now (fluctuates b/w 297 and 300), but this too shall pass.

I am somewhat shocked to report that I walked 3 miles today, bringing my total to 20.6 miles. That doesn't even sound possible to me. I had hoped to hit 40 miles this month and while I still hope to hit 40, I also realize it's the 8th of October and I've hit 20.6 miles already. How is that even possible?!

Loving this. The challenge and my fitbit both urged me to walk back and forth to the client's office, and then back and forth to dinner.< /p>

Which by the way was TWO delicious lobster tails! I can not believe I was able to eat them both with no problems. I hit 101 gms of Protein while a)on the road and b)without shakes. happy day!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
