Ok. I'm late, which you will learn is very normal for me. But I'm in. I'm going to strive for 100, today I worked out with my trainer for a solid

50 min but didn't have a pedometer on. So I'll get out and walk.

Right now I'm home cleaning all of my clothes out of my closet and waiting for Comcast to fix my football channels. (sorry that's totally off topic and could turn this amazing thread very negative).

I'm Carolyn, I live in the North Denver suburbs. It's snowing a little today, but we have a few months of good riding in Oct and Nov, so I'll be out on my new bike. I have Plantar Fascitis that I thought would resolve after surgery, but it's still troublesome.

I work in Austin and it's getting cool enough there to get outside and walk.

Great thread and I'm thrilled to find such an upbeat and supportive topic!

Butter, hope you heal up quickly. I'm glad your wife is participating. Getting the family healthy is an amazing biproduct of having surgery.

Your new pic and name are driving me crazy! Who did you used to be?? I know I know you you.. But my memory fails...

Same user name I have always had. My avatar used to be a pic of me and my 16 month old so. My name is William.

Well I had initially said I would sit at the table marked P for wussy but I don't think anyone else found it as funny as I did :P Skin of my teeth baby!

Just so you know....everyone here at the Butter Ranch loved this. But missus Butter said she's barely gonna manage my miles.

You, Meliss000 and I are all in Colorado. What do you mean your work in Austin? As in Austin, TX? You "commute" from Denver to Austin?

Welcome to the challenge, yeah that snow was a tad early for my taste, but meh, with the way our weather has been I wasn't too surprised by it. Maybe it will freeze some of the mud. ;)

I'm 2.4 weeks sleeved, and have done 12 blocks at a time around my neighborhood. I've had some problems with weakness but I'm in, although late and not sure i can hit 100 I will try :) Needing to keep motivated, my 1 yr goal is a half marathon, my short term is a 2 mile fun run on Thanksgiving.

Most people call me Phay or Phae, short for my name Phaedra.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
