Water bottles

I'm a week out and was wondering what type of water bottle to get. I was told no straws but is a camelback bottle ok?

My NUT said the Camelbak was fine since the bite valve sucks the Water up itself. I have some Nalgene "on the fly" bottles that have a covered spout but no straw. I don't like to have my drinks open to the air (don't want them contaminated with dust....lol)
