I'm with you all the way Lady in Red. I was sleeved on 09/18 and have lost 17 pounds since surgery. Have just updated my ticker to find that my BMI has finally come out of the 60s and into the 50s. I just want to shout it from the rooftops! Woohoo!

May I ask what 3 stones means? How much is that in pounds? You must be from the UK, right? :D

Lady in Red - where in the Uk are you from and where did you get your surgery done? I am in Scotland.

I live in Falkirk, a town halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The NHS wouldn't do my surgery because I did not have diabetes.

So I paid privately and went to a clinic in France. I consider this to be the best money I've ever spent and don't regret it one bit.

Nope, have been taking it easy. Liquidised home made Soup, yoghurts, crackerbread with Philly light, fruit juice, V8 juice, the occasional Protein Drink and Water. I'm not good at consuming my Proteins and getting enough water.

Before my op I did drink a lot of water but now I find it so hard just to sip.

Hi looby Lou

Well done that's fab on your loss. 17 pounds in 10 days is excellent.

I've lost 13 pounds so far. And 6 pounds pre op so 19 altogether. Bit dissappointed as i thought I would lose a lot more

Hello, I'm from the US. My surgery was 9/23. From my surgery consult on the 17th until the 26th, I had lost 14 pounds. I don't have a scales at home so I don't know how much more I have lost. I go back to Dr this Wednesday, so Im excited to see.

Dr still has me on Clear Liquids. Next will be full liquid. I'm doing pretty good with my Protein but having trouble with Water.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
