the-Russ 91 Posted September 28, 2013 My friend lost a lot of weight and I said the same thing. Now he looks normal and great. Nothing changed, except I am used to seeing him at a normal weight. I'm next. 1 Dickens22 reacted to this
Dickens22 62 Posted September 28, 2013 People can be so thoughtless to speak everything that crosses their mind. In their defense, some times it people losing weight do look sickly at times as their body adjusts. Once the body adjusts they look great. I would just chalk it up to poor manners and be proud of your accomplishment. Keep up the good work! 1 nsquared reacted to this
SueJH 205 Posted September 28, 2013 I think that is it. People are so used to you looking a certain way that even though you are totally within your weight range, to them you initially look really thin. I'm sure people who have never met you before think you look great because they don't have that "before" image in their head. 1 Erica2013 reacted to this

Leederz 49 Posted September 28, 2013 People said that to me right after I lost the bulk of my weight. I think it's because our bodies are still readjusting to the new weight.

People have to remember u don't look the same everyday, me for instance, well put it this way, I was sent home from a job one day and told to put on makeup. I do look way better with makeup 1 GoldyGirl reacted to this
7 Bites_Jen 479 Posted October 8, 2013 I wonder if it's jealousy? I think sometimes people see us losing weight and they don't like it for one reason or another. What I hate is that now I still have about 40 lbs to lose and every once in a while someone says something about my weight. I'm thinking, "what?? I've lost 100 lbs!!" but it's all about they're own perception. You're OBVIOUSLY doing an amazing job, so don't let them get to you. :-) 1 GoldyGirl reacted to this

sknyinside 99 Posted October 9, 2013 I have been watching a lot of people I work with who have been sleeved. I have to say, it seems as another poster stated that after a tremendous amount of weight loss in a short period of time, people look good, then look sick - then as their body adjusts, look good again. It amazes me how people feel they have the right to make verbal observations about other peoples weight and looks. So unthoughtful and unfeeling. I'm sure they think they are doing it from a place of caring, but it is hurtful and not at all helpful. Keep your head up and know people will adjust to the new you as your body adjusts as well. 1 GoldyGirl reacted to this

willi11 3 Posted October 30, 2013 I don't either, just for once want someone to say instead of how obese and overweight that I look a little thin. that was all I meant - I do not want to be sickly or anyone else for that matter
