I made the most amazing chicken Parmesan for dinner tonight with spicy marinara and low carb linguini.

It was spectacular!!! I kept eating to the point of discomfort, take a break, and eat some more.

The portion was minuscule compared to once upon a time, but the behavior is what worries me. It really is my best chicken parm ever.

I had to walk around and take deep breaths to keep from sliming and puking.

I am 9 days post op and I totally licked the seasoning of a dorito... And took a tiny bite of my husbands chicken salad. Chewed the heck out of it before swallowing but it was sooo good.

Okay' date=' sorry don't believe that crap. I've lost 103 pounds. 3 plus years out. Drink about 150 ozs or so a day and it's ALL THROUGH A STRAW! I have great restriction and no reflux!!! :)[/quote']

Thank you, thank you! I have always been a "straw drinker" and I'm glad to see it hasn't affected you. It's really weird for me to drink from a glass...I like my drinks to be COLD but the ice from that hurts my teeth - hence the straw

I have had Velveeta Shells and cheese. Just about a cup and I was stuffed. Logged it on MFP and it wasn't nearly as "bad" as I thought. Even had Protein. I find that eating it and then logging it takes the "badness" factor out and I don't need to feel guilty. I'm in control' date=' not the food.[/quote']

I saw a recipe tonight that put those frozen lil breaded shrimp on too of Mac n cheese...sooo if you do that, you will for sure get your protein ;-)

Honestly' date=' after reading all of this I don't feel bad or guilty or dirty anymore. The fear is that one "mess-up" will lead to more and more, and it is important to stay on top of emotionally unhealthy eating behaviors don't get me wrong. But it can also be pretty unhealthy to beat oneself up over things. It's that kind of thinking which can lead to binging in me. I would have felt much better if I'd just had the slices of pizza that I wanted and not worried so much over having to eat it all since I'd already begun or to prevent eating only pizza every day for the rest of my life omg. I could have had three slices or whatever and not felt bad about it, just enjoyed it. So I made pound cake today. I made it a couple of weeks ago and had a slice or two every day and felt guilty and like I was ruining my weight loss. Well today I planned for it and I made it and it's delicious. I've even decided to give half of it away and I've just packed it up, but not because I'm afraid I'll ruin myself but because it's good and I want to share. I don't have to feel bad at all about those slices I've already eaten. They feel darn good in my belly right now.[/quote']

Mmmm homemade poundcake. Haven't had that in years. Please post your recipe...

I drink beer over ice and have no problem keeping it down. I don't do it often but when I do its so good.

I've heard of this before. Why does it work? What happens to the carbonation?

10 months out and still I find myself battling with craving crappy food most days are okay but then I have a day like today that sneaks up and slaps me right in the face.. Today I did great until I opened the freezer and there were the Peanut Butter cookies.. Two of them found their way into my belly.. Then I was cleaning out the camper and we had chocolates for smores... two small chocolates made their way into my belly... then this evening I had two girl guide Cookies which my father in law brought by for the kids :( haven't had this bad of a day in a long time... logged it all into my fitness pal and it wasn't as bad as I thought... I wasn't stress eating which used to be the culprit..I was eating out of bordem.. I have cleaned out the crap from all of these places and I need to find something better to do with my time. I am at goal and I think that maintenance is playing with my mind a little.. Thanks for sharing everyone, its kind of nice to know that there are others out there like me :)

Just curious as to how much you had to make the nausea come on? Or is it just the fact that you ate it at all (or was it the carbs)? I love chik parm and I am trying to get a gauge of if I will never be able to eat it post sleeve.

I believe it was mostly the Pasta. Low carb. High carb. Whole wheat. It doesn't matter. Pasta lands hard and fast. I didn't eat much at all. But it was too much.

I made a pot roast and homemade mashed potatoes for the family night before last. I can tolerate beef very well but that chuck roast immediately evacuated back through the way it came. I figured it was just a bad night as I have those from time to time, but I tasted it the next day and BOOOOOOM, out it came.

The mashed taters were the same. They made me feel as if I had swallowed a rock. SOB!!!! I am in serious denial right now.

We had filet mignon, broccoli and loaded mashed potatoes last night. The only thing I can say is, at least I used 2% cheese, turkey bacon and Greek yogurt instead of sour cream in the loaded potatoes, lol.

I struggle with potatoes and the various ways of preparing them too. Bummer that!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
