Hi Everyone!

I joined the forum just today and am so excited to say that I am scheduled for LapBand Surgery this Thursday!! I could not be happier with the choice that I have made. I am 29 years old and will be 30 in March. What better birthday present could I give myself, right?! I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 2 years. He is in Law School and I work for a bank in Oxford, MS. We have 2 four legged babies, Chester and Max. We had looked into the Lapband well over a year ago and it took me till November 2006 to fully decide to make this life change. I hope to talk to as many people and learn even more than I already have about this procedure. I would really like to talk to people that live in or close to MS and are around my age. I makes you feel better to know that you have PEERS that have dealt with constant challenges with your weight and are going through what you are going through.

Thank all in advance for any support you can give.

Keyla Spinks:) :) :) :)

Welcome!! I am 16 days post op and also feel like this is the best thing I ever could have done! I feel like my life is going to begin for the first time. My husband will have a wife he has never seen. I have always been heavy and issues/depression/anxiety/melt downs over my weight our whole 11 years of marriage.

I also being on the younger side, 33, want to do this thing right from the get go and follow all the bandster rules! I didn't do this to eat junk food and then wonder why I am not losing! I just met a lady at a support group who lost 115 in 8 months and she said it was just by eating the bandster way, drinking Water and exercise!!!

Let me know if you have any other questions!!

And congrats on your decision!

Congrats on getting banded. I've been banded since June. I'm considered a slow loser at 40lbs. I am please however that I am no longer hungry. Best of luck to you.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
