At Disney... And miserable

Recommended Posts

I'm on vacation at Disney world with my mom and family and I'm miserable. My feet are KILLING me and my back is aching. I'm way too fat to be here. I wish we couldve taken this trip next year. I'm getting sleeved in exactly one week. Frankly, I can't wait. I'm so over this fat thing. I want to go home but were here for another 2 days. I'm trying to make the best of it but it's clear to everyone I'm miserable. I'm so glad my daughter is too little to remember mommy being sad at Disney. Shes having fun at least :) I guess I just needed to rant a little about the downfalls of being overweight and how it truly affects your happiness. Anyone else missing out on lifes pleasures because of their weight?

Don't feel bad. I took my son to an amusement park and I couldn't fit on the ride...i had to get off. Take about embarrassing and miserable. We are planning a trip to Disney World in 2015. I am hoping to be so much slimmer by then. Hopefully you can just make the best of it and make plans to return when ur healthy and fabulous!!

I've put many things on hold. Virtually no pictures of me and my kids and I've never met my husband's colleagues on purpose. Just turned down a night out with an old friend because I didn't want them to see me like this...also got kicked off a kiddie coaster this summer. Probably one of my lower moments. My date will likely be late October and fortunately our Disney trip will be Fall 2014! Can't wait to enjoy it to its fullest:-). And take pictures with my kids. And look (again) like I should me married to my skinny handsome husband!!!

I hope you can have an enjoyable rest of the time, but next year baby, you are going to have so much more energy and you will be feeling so good! Just look forward to that! Your life and body is about to make a big change! And when you think about cheating during your journey, remember the way you feel now!

You will do great!

I hear you both. All day I'm walking around like please god let me fit on every ride. I've had a few close calls but so far been ok. I can totally relate to not wanting people to see you. I'm embarrassed of myself and don't want my poor husband to be associated with me :( I'm glad you'll be taking your trip next year. If I wasn't so heavy I'd really be enjoying this trip so much more. I'll be putting on my best attitude tomorrow so hopefully I won't be in as much pain.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
