Cottage cheese....?

Recommended Posts

Saw the doc today for my 2 week checkup and got a new diet :) yay. so........how am I supposed to chew cottage cheese 25 times? I feel like I am moving it all around in my mouth and chewing and it seems 10-15 times is about all I can do.... Is it that big of a deal?

I've tried to chew cottage cheese 25-30 times and it just ain't happening! I don't think it's a problem though because mush is mush!!! Before this surgery I couldn't stand cottage cheese...then I found out it had 11 grams of Protein and it started tasting a lot better to me!

LOL! I loved cottage cheese before surgery :) Just finished my 1/4 cup after 35 min....like a good girl and I have to say it tasted sooooo good after all those sweet Protein drinks...although my mouth now tastes like sour milk :( yuck

I've moved on from cottage cheese, but I would add a bit of Water to it to make it more liquid, then sort of mash it around a bit. I also added unflavored Protein Powder, so the water was really necessary to keep it from being a wallpaper-paste consistency. :)

Yeah I didn't give it any extra thought. That chew thing is to make you slow down and chew your food to make it easier to digest because as someone put it your stomach does not have teeth!

Oh that seems like so much work for just some cottage cheese..You must be some dedicated sleever..lol buck up girl and eat the cottage cheese...Chew it until it is chunkiless and swallow.....lol...

I ate a lot of cottage cheese in the beginning too..Haven't in a couple months now.....On to big and better things....

At least you get to eat it! I LOVED Cottage cheese pre surgery and that is the one and only thing I can not eat post because I just don't like the taste of it anymore. So freaking strange....

I think it all depends how dense the food you eat is.. For example chicken or beef would take much more chews than cottage cheese..cause cottage cheese is less dense. As long as u chewed the food well enough to have practically nothing else to chew on..so don't worry about the number of chews too much..

I was a very excited girl to be told I could eat anything today! I have been on liquids for 2 weeks (since surgery on 9-10)

What are some great Protein Shakes that I can try before my surgery and adding ice is alright? I like them cold (did the Herbalife thing awhile back). My NUT gave me a couple samples of Unjury?

Any suggestions on what to try is GREATLY appreciated.

Oh man, this is not encouraging. I'm still pre-op and I love cottage cheese. I eat it with lite canned peaches (in fruit juice, not heavy syrup), and I was hoping to just pulse those peaches in the blender to bring them into the purée stage. I'm not happy to hear your tastes have changed.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
