I was a very excited girl to be told I could eat anything today! I have been on liquids for 2 weeks (since surgery on 9-10)

You can eat anything now? I had surgery same day as you and they want me on soft foods this week. Just ate some tuna for the first time in ages. What food have you eaten so far?

Oh man, this is not encouraging. I'm still pre-op and I love cottage cheese. I eat it with lite canned peaches (in fruit juice, not heavy syrup), and I was hoping to just pulse those peaches in the blender to bring them into the purée stage. I'm not happy to hear your tastes have changed.

Mine didn't. I loved cottage cheese before and loved it after surgery. Though post surgery I had a new distaste for broth I didn't have before surgery.

Sorry, no I wasn't told I could eat "anything". I was just happy to eat. I was given a pretty large list of pureed meats, Beans, ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, pudding, tofu, oatmeal, . Then I saw the NUT this Monday and she told me that if I felt like my tummy could handle more food....then I could try the next stage. (since we are 4 weeks out on nextTuesday) I have had canned chicken, left it in the Water it's packaged in (so it didn't dry out) and heated it in the microwave. The NUT said dry meat is what typically makes you sick, so I could add broth or fat free gravy. I thought I am not eating pureed meat....so I popped it in the microwave and it was DELICIOUS. I ate it slowly and chewed it VERY well. I have had fat free refried Beans and used some fage yougurt to kinda dip them in.....YUM but it sits kinda heavy. And I have some high Protein oatmeal that I have been eating in the morning. I eat over 30-45 min because I don't want to get sick.....also I'm supposed to stop drinking 15 min before and 45 min after. Seems to work.

At least you get to eat it! I LOVED Cottage cheese pre surgery and that is the one and only thing I can not eat post because I just don't like the taste of it anymore. So freaking strange....

Maybe try it with a tablespoon of Polaner fruit Spread... I used pineapple, strawberry and apricot... Delish!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
