Hi Everyone,

So happy and excited to finally be a part of this group! I was sleeved on 5/21/12. My highest weight was 299 pounds. When I first saw my surgeon, I was 294.4. Surgery weight 279 and current weight 166. I've been eating the 5.2 way for about 3 weeks now. I've been stuck for months trying to get the scales to move. I'm hoping this works for me and I know I have to be patient. My goal is 150. I'm 5'6" tall. So at 150 my BMI will be just below 25. :)

Thanks again for the add! Looking forward to getting to know each one of you here. :) Attached are some before and afters. I hope showing my bra isn't too much. lol I'm really excited to be where I am today but really I don't want to stop here. I need to be in the normal range for my height. But still.... I'm so grateful!!!

Welcome! We don't have any magic though. I don't know how people do it with families. At least I don't have to cook much for other people.

I honestly was giving up hope that I would ever get back down to my goal weight again. Now I am only 4 lbs away after losing most of my regain.

For some reason, 5:2 works better than low carb or low calorie diets.

Welcome, this a bunch of very supportive people. We all seem to be at the same point in our journey, we can see goal or we have seen it and it has slipped past. The 5:2 is not a fast weight loss process but I do believe it is one that I can live with for a long time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
