It's common. If you had internal bleeding it wouldn't be coming out that route you would have black, tar like stools or vomiting dark "coffee ground" like stuff. You would also have other signs like dizziness, light headed, heart racing etc... Your body is just out of whack because of surgery and weight loss, you'll be fine. It will eventually even out.

I haven't had my surgery yet (it's in 2 days) but my friend got her period right after her surgery also (twice in 1 month) and they told her it was because of the stress of the surgery. Hope this helps and you are okay.

This happened to me, too. My periods were out of whack for about 5 months. And, not that this will happen to you, and I hope it doesn't, but I want to give you fair warning: some women, myself included, experienced yeast infections for about the first 3-5 months, too, in addition to the wacky periods. Not sure why the crazy periods and other female issues happen, but I think it is because our bodies go through a drastic change, and our hormones and such can't keep up. But, once you balance out around month 5 or 6, this should all stop and you will be back to normal. I would give it another month or two of periods to see if it evens out, but if it doesn't, don't hesitate to contact your gyno, just to be on the safe side. As if you aren't dealing with enough, Aunt Flow has to show up and ruin everything!!! I really hate her!! :)

I got mine the day after surgery (it was a week) early then got it again 2 weeks later. It only took a couple of months to get back on schedule but just recently (Im 9 months out) when I got mine I was 8 days early. Im just chalking it up to my body still getting used to being 94 pounds lighter. Ive recently had a 'women exam' and everything was fine so it is what it is.

I have a mirena iud and haven't had a period in 3 years at least, I had my surgery on 9/18 and got my period while I was in the hospital. The nurses couldn't tell me why either. Weird.

I was on my period when I had my surgery and it stopped my second night in the hospital. I haven't started back yet, but I feel really bloated. I also have PCOS so I expect I will be really out of whack for a while.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
