I'm just the opposite. 4 months out and only lost 20 pounds. That was in first month. Nothing since. I feel like crap. How about you? Soooo wish I hadn't done this!

I've wondered about this...there is a gal I follow on youtube who has lost a ton and seems to be maintaining quite well. You should look her up...she responds to questions maybe she could help you. look up "Leah's VSG Journey" on youtube....she's great

Has your DR given you any idea why this is? Do you document everything you eat? How could this be happening? I'm so sorry for your struggle...

If you want to stop losing, you have to consume more calorie-dense foods. You may need the help of a nutritionist for this, as far as where to put your calories. They can actually measure your metabolism and tell you how many calories you need per day to lose, gain, or maintain weight. Good luck and I sure wish I had your problem!

Thanks for the input. I started at 228lbs. I struggled to maintain 121lbs and did it for 2 months....then I had dental surgery and was unable to eat for 3 days, only fluids bc I couldn't open my mouth. 3 days ago I weighed 115 (still not able to eat normally). So I ended up losing about one pound per day. It is WORK to maintain weight! When they say your life will change, you really have NO IDEA how much it will change until you are living it. No one could have completely prepared me for the journey. That being said, I would do the surgery again, but would have done things differently had I known THEN what I know now. I have been lucky with no complications at all, until now. I am starting to be concerned since I am so small now (size 2). No room for error. I don't want to be sick! I have my blood drawn every 3 months and everything checks out fine.....so far. Just wondering since I have not once read a post about someone in my position.

This was one of the things I was worried about during my research phase. To my surprise, I found a few articles online about when who experienced this. Some sort of rear genetic disorder caused it. I remember one lady had to eat 15,000 calories per day to maintain her weight!

I hope this is not what you're experiencing! Try googling it. I'm pretty sure they had the bypass though but I supposed it could happen with the sleeve as well.

Good luck

and also if this does not turn atound (after the mouth heals), consider talking to a therapist. See (in the research thread) an article I posted about obesity and anorexia...

Hi SkinnyGirl. You mentioned that you'd do things differently if you knew then what you know now. I'm having my sleeve in 2 weeks time and this site is great, has helped me loads but I just wondered what things you might do differently? Lx

I don't think you have a rare genetic disorder, especially if you've been able to maintain for a couple months. It sounds like the dental surgery and not being able to eat because of it just messed you up a bit. I know you said you still can't eat normally, but have you tried adding in some more calories as the one poster said above? Even drinking Ensure or something. I think once your eating is normal again and you add in a few hundred more calories you should be fine. Just my opinion, of course, and seeing a nutritionist definitely can't do any harm.

What's a typical day of food look like for you? I agree a nutritionist will be able to help you adjust your eating plan. For me, I added a few treats and some heathy fats and that did the trick. My challenge is finding the sweet spot between gaining and losing. I set my bounce range small to help control that issue. Under 133, I eat more. Close to 137, I eat less.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
