I put my pack of instant oatmeal in my nutri bullet before I mix it with the milk until it's ground to a powder and it works greatfor me!

. I'm on day 5 right now. My doc says I can have oatmeal but it has to be blended and thinned.

When I was banded, I used the different baby food cereals, oatmeal with mixed fruit or with bananas... A week out. But this time having had the sleeve (and only one week out), my post op diet doesn't included it at all.

I'm allowed plain oatmeal at week 3. I can eat cream of wheat/farina now at 1 week post op. Maybe try that instead?

Actually ate low sugar instant oatmeal for the 1st time today and I'm 7 days post op. It's on my list of can have's, just thinned a bit with Water. Wasn't able to eat but a 1/2 cup cooked but it was the best oatmeal I've ever had! So glad to be off clears liquids!

I had porridge (which I think is what Americans call steel cut oats) within the first week. It was on my plan and helped with post OP Constipation too. However everyone has a different plan so follow what your NUT/ surgeon recommends.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
