sadfat1962 11 Posted September 25, 2013 Anyone eating these foods at 2 mths out? Everyone seems to have different eating phases or plans, and my surgeon's post-op coordinator really doesn't seem to care, so... Anyone? I haven't been able to stomach any Protein Shakes AT ALL and am tired of meat/dairy, which prior to surgery, it was clear to me by the coordinator, that a mostly veg diet is easily possible with the sleeve, that I shouldn't have any worries.. NOT! Anyone eating a plant/protein based diet? Im struggling. Any help would be great help, thank you.
SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted September 25, 2013 I ate all of those things at 2 months out. I was only restricted from certain foods for the first six weeks while the staple line was healing... for example, I couldn't have berries due to the possibility of the seeds getting stuck in the healing staple line. Some people might struggle with kale since it's a bit fiberous, but it wasn't a problem for me at all... I pretty much have a sleeve of steel!
ItsMe2033 143 Posted September 25, 2013 Each surgeons plan is different, but in my case, even though I can have those types of things, there is a caution that nuts, and leafy vegetables might be problematic for many months after being allowed to eat most everything else. I can't really offer any suggestions regarding a plant based diet.
