Ready to ransack the closet..

Recommended Posts

So, now that I'm approved, I can't wait to get rid of half if the contents of my closet.

I'm really fighting the urge..which is silly because my surgery isn't for another month.

And for the record my closet is so messy and packed. My poor husband has half a shelf to use and that's it.

Anyone else have this issue?!

It only makes sense to ransack the closet as things get too big.

I save the closet cleaning for days when I still feel "fat" despite the over 100 lbs weight loss. Because despite the loss, some days I can try on new clothes and the weird sizes don't make sense and make me feel fat, so my best judge is seeing how the clothes I already own are too big. Besides, it's free to try them on, I already own them.

Good luck!

Your closet changing will happen several times over the coming year.

Don't buy expensive clothes on the way down unless you're loaded.

I suggest putting a bag in your closet and dropping the too bigs in one at a time as they make themselves known.

Look at them and remember when you bought them, it's like time travel.

Also, save a few pieces of your biggest stuff, they make for interesting "before and after" pics.

I'm four months out have have shipped ony closet for probably the last time. I'm wearing things I couldn't three or four years ago. The other day my SO thought I had gone shopping because it has been so long since he saw them.

Ha! I love the idea of putting a bag in the closet to just toss too big stuff in.

I never thought about this part of it..my husband hasn't even seen a good 90% of my actual real wardrobe!

We've been together 9 years and I've been big the whole time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
