2013 November Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Today is day 1 of my 15day pre-opt and I have been easing into 5 shakes per day. Today is the day!! this is the start of my new relationship with food!!! I knew I would have to be mentally prepared, however I have never had to give myself soo many peps talks lol when I start to get cravings I remind myself why I am doing this and what and who is important!!!

I have six children that need a healthy mom!! I want to be able to do things with them instead of not being able to walk long distances or afraid of embarrassing them. I want to live long enough to see them grow up to be adults and have careers and families :) I've tried many diets and have been in a heck of a roller coaster ride.. I am confident this tool will be what I need to be successful and get my life back.

Best wishes to everyone on my same journey and thank you for the support reading so many similar stories and knowing you are not alone is also great motivation!!!

Thanks! Good luck on your pre op and surgery! It is tough the first few days into the liquid diet but I keep reminding myself it will definitely be worth it!

Well, this is my first post here although I have been a member on line for more than a year. November 8th is my surgery date. I went to my first meeting more than 18 months ago. It's taken me that long to get my head in the right place. I have gotten a lot of great information both here and on you tube. I have also attended the monthly support meetings even though I have no yet had the surgery. Just would like to say thanks to all who post. I'm looking forward to getting this surgery over. My best to all. Ed

Day 3 of my pre op and down 9lbs already.

I started my liquid (full liquid) on Monday, the 28th, also. I weighed yesterday, and I was down 8 lbs. Of course, it is mostly Water at first. The body releasing extra water. I have a naturopath tell me one time that I was not fat (I weighed about 215), but that I was carrying around all extra water. Who knows. I'm just glad to see the scale going down.

I weighed and measured yesterday. I'm trying to stay off the scale until next Monday when I start Clear Liquids. Then on Nov 11th, SURGERY DAY! :D I will measure and weigh again. Measurements can mean a lot more than the scale when a stall happens.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
