magtart 603 Posted September 24, 2013 How does this work if you have your sleeve done in Mexico? I am considering Dr. Alvarez, but what if I run out of pain meds or have an emergency once I get back home?
homersmomma 77 Posted September 25, 2013 Make it a point to bring your PCP into the loop. They are going to be your best medical support once you return home.

Italiancurves 117 Posted September 25, 2013 Wow, I better get a new PCP then b/c mine is super negative about my doing the procedure and going to Mexico. I figured I will opt to buy more pain meds there. My Docs package only covers 4 pain pills. Weird, but I'm hoping I won't need much. I prefer to be up walking than laying in bed anyways. And I figured I'd go to ER if anything goes wrong. But yeah, we need to get our follow up lab work. Oh I will probably just go to the same negative doc and prove that I made it home alive and show her how successful the surgery was. And hope that she's proffessional enough to do her job! It's true, we definetley need follow up care back home.
homersmomma 77 Posted September 25, 2013 I had a talk with my PCP before I even made arrangements to go to Mexico for my surgery. Happily he was alright with my decision. I did receive some pain meds before I left Mexico and so far I have not had to take a single one.
