HOW NOTICEABLE IS Hair loss AND DOES IT STOP OR IS IT CONTINUOUS?

Well mine was noticable because I already had thinning baby fine hair. I had my vsg done a year ago and I started losing hair at about 5 months and although the falling out stopped, it is still really thin. I just went to the dr and he gave me a spray to help regrow hair, I also take Biotin every day, and use Garnier Fall Fight Shampoo every day. I am thinking that it has helped. I also went to the dr today and they took some blood and put it through a machine and took out the platelets (I think or plasma or something) and then they injected it into my scalp all over, it was about 100 injections. I am hoping that this will stimulate growth.

BUT, even though I have lost hair, had to cut it short and have a few very thin parts, I would not have done anything different. I have lost over 100 pounds and can run a 5k. People call me tiny, slim, slender and skinny. I have lots more confidence and have proven to myself that I am worth working on my health.

Heres hoping all those injections today work. Hurt less than I thought but more than I would have liked for it to. haha

Will be waiting to see if it worked. Mine got thinner, but only my hair dresser and I really noticed. I take Biotin twice a day and see new Hair growth. Also, I have mine longer now to go with my new slimmer look and since I just got hearing aides. LOL!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
