Why i want this surgery

I thought it would be fun to list the little things people take for granted being thin obviously it's for health but here is my others why I can't share out loud for fear of embarrassment

Ride roller coasters

Shop at gift stores for souvenirs like a cute shirt/jacket

Clipping/painting toenails

Wipe my butt and feeling clean afterwards walking farther than the kitchen

Helping my kids potty train

Sitting cross cross in the floor

Sitting in a booth

Have one/two sizes of clothes not all

Not being twice the size of my spouse

These are a few things that I would like to add, because now I can, after VSG!

Cross my legs like a lady

Run a 5K

Wrap a NORMAL sized towel around me and not have to use a beach towel

Being able to look at and wear cute lingerie (and just cute clothes in general)

Not having to take a whole handful of medicine

Being referred to as Slim, Skinny, petite, slender, TINY

There is so much fun to be had crossing and uncrossing your legs, lol!! Other great things are:

Wearing knee boots off the shelf

High heels, without getting sore knees

Ladies' wrist watch (rather than having to buy a man's)

Hold ups with lacy tops

Buying normal sized clothes from normal shops

Squeezing between tables in a cafe with ease (and without my backside whacking the cups on the table behind me !)

Running up stairs and still being able to have a conversation after

Not worrying how full the bath is when I get in

I could go on, tglastchance, but you get the picture. And like Susie in Lima, I will never tire of being told now little I am:-)))))

Sitting on an airplane without a seatbelt extender, getting up from the sofa quickly enough to catch a two year old, playing soccer in the backyard with a two year old, Not wanting to finish a full bag of chips !! just a few things

Thanks guys ... You made me smile... I'm a teacher and I squeeze between desks all the time only to knock stuff down with my butt!!!!!! I must look really stupid doing that over Andover

I can think of a few things..

-Trying on clothing before purchasing it

- Enjoying swimming-wearing a swimsuit

- Comfortably eating at social events particularly small dining events

- Not hearing chairs creaking their displeasure when you sit on them

lets see the list is long but I will name a few reasons...I would like to dance a full hip hop song with my daughter, walk up a flight of stairs on my cellphone and not have to end the call for being out of breath, to be healthier, live longer, do things I enjoy doing, not afraid of stores in the mall any longer, no longer hide behind my kids in pictures to hide majority of my body, to become more outgoing etc.....

I would like to dance a full hip hop song with my daughter

I am a dance mom and the other dance moms have been trying to get me to take adult hip hop with them and I won't do it. I'm hoping after the first of the year to do it.

My list includes:

Roller coasters

Shopping out of the plus size

Cute shoes

Running a mile

Dancing

There is more but it's early.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

      Woohoo! I have 7 more days till surgery, So far I am already down a total of 20lbs since I started this journey.
