EarthyGoalie 253 Posted September 24, 2013 I'm on my pre op and I've been doing good. But I was watching tv and everything that came on was about food. In the movie I was watching, some guy was eating a burger that seemed amazingly good. Then someone ate a nice big juicy hot dog. Then came the commercials. This is insane! They're driving me nuts. :-( I guess I should just turn off the tv....
Macy6 356 Posted September 24, 2013 Oh my gosh I know! I promise you it gets better. I'm 4 weeks post op and it doesn't bother me nearly as much as it used to.

Bufflehead 6,358 Posted September 24, 2013 Do you have a DVR? I record everything I want to watch and fast forward through the commercials so they never can make me think about food. I don't watch any live TV anymore unless there is some huge breaking news story that I absolutely need to follow.
Arts137 1,811 Posted September 24, 2013 Well, I take a different approach. If I see a food /restaurant commercial on TV, the 'product' (won't call it food) goes on the "NOPE" list and I will NOT go to the resyaurant or eat the food.
Justinh125 472 Posted September 24, 2013 Think of the unhealthy junk you see on tv as like cigarettes. A lot of ex-smokers tell me the now find even the smell disgusting, and they know how harmful it was.
EarthyGoalie 253 Posted September 24, 2013 Thanks guys. :-). I will definitely try to apply those methods. And yes I do have a dvr. And every time I think about junk food, I keep trying to repeat to myself why I'm having the surgery and that those foods are a big part of the reasons why. It just gets hard sometimes.
